Elham is a postdoctoral researcher at Université de Montréal. Her work focuses on developing machine learning methods in sustainable finance, especially topics related to climate change. She was also a lead AI scientist at Clearsum and a Research and Development Scientist at Axionable. She is currently an AI project manager at AI Launch Lab and supports students in successfully accomplishing AI-based projects. Elham was a mentor at Mila and Athena Pathways, helping Mila’s students and Canadian women achieve their personal and professional development objectives. She is a member of Women in AI and Women in Climate Tech, which aim toempower and amplify the voices of women and non-binary people in AI and climate tech. Her mission is also to encourage more women to join the AI world. She specializes in algorithm development, machine learning, and optimization. She has obtained a PhD in Mathematics from Polytechnique Montréal in 2020. Before her PhD, she was the head of the banking software development team at Saman Bank. Her interest is mainly in applying artificial intelligence for social good. Because of her contribution to the field of AI, she won one of the awards of Women in Artificial Intelligence North America 2022.
